Jocelyn is a full blooded member of the Taos Pueblo tribe, who grew up walking the distance from the centuries old village. Her large family included several who were involved in the arts and traditional crafts. She is self taught in the non-traditional arts.

Jocelyn attended the University of Oklahoma earning a Bachelors degree in Interior design. Architectural renderings were a regular part of Jocelyn's interior design course work from which emerged a love of structures portrayed in art. Having full access to the multi-storied structures at Taos Pueblo, they soon became some of Jocelyn's favorite subjects. After completing school and having the opportunity to live in Atlanta, Georgia. Jocelyn returned home and began producing art more consistently, with a new appreciation and perspective for the old adobe, that seeming comes from living away from home.

In 2004, Jocelyn decided to pursue her art full time. Economic realities made this a risky decision; however her discovery of a medium called black scratchboard strengthened her desire and commitment to pursue a career in the arts, currently producing her art full time.

"Modern day Pueblo villages have certain vulnerabilities due to modern circumstances, complacency, and even the weather. The pueblos are slowly changing as they have been since they were built. In my art, I seek to capture images of the pueblo as I have known it to be during my life. In each piece are my prayers, that our people will continue to respect and preserve our ancestral homes."
